That's a good nickname. It's a little cold-hearted for sports center, but the radio talk show guys would eat it up.

On CBS News Sunday Morning (on while I commented on Lucy Romo (Lucy Romo, heh)) they just did a Jon Bon Jovi interview. Jon predicted that he may end up being president of the United States, so it looks like Vin Diesel may have some competition in 2008.

Let me be the first to heartily endorse a Diesel/Jovi '08 ticket. The combination of Vin Diesel's action-packed stance on terrorism and Bon Jovi's hair will be unstoppable.

On the football front, did you happen to see the Giants/Eagles game? This was the first in-game action I've see of the hefty lefty, Jared Lorenzen. He's like Eli Manning having eaten Tiki Barber, and I think he's Big Blue's only hope for neat season.

I only saw the end of the game. For some strange reason, my cable gets every channel but FOX and ESPN2.

I think the Giants just need to axe Coughlin. Manning should be developing as a QB, but it isn't happening. I think he showed too much potential earlier in his career to say he's a bust now. It's a little absurd to say the Giants' only hope is a player who ran a sneak for two yards and later called a timeout.

I don't think anyone's arguing that Fat Jared should be the Giants QB. That would be stupid. Coughlin needs to be rolled up in a carpet and tossed into a river. The Giants have a QB with potential, a great running back, a great tight end and a pretty good receiver but their offense consitently struggled or turned the ball over in critical situations. Some of that has to be Manning's inexperience and poor play, but there has to come a time when a coach makes changes. I think it's plainly obvious to everyone that Coughlin should have instituted the an option-based offense. Look how well that high school shit worked for Florida last night.

The team that needs the option the most is the Falcons. Think about it: their number one and two strengths are a QB who can run and running backs who can run. Mix runs and options with an occasional play action throw, and they'd scare the bejeezus out of most of their opponents.

Gregg Easterbrook at espn.com already argued that the Falcon's best success this season was when they went run-run-run-play action etc. I see no reason why they can't add the option to that as well.

The Falcons couldn't win with a white quarterback. They're not doing so well with a black quarterback, either. What they need is a Chinese quarterback to shake things up. If they don't trade for or attempt to acquire Timmy Chang, then their offseason has to be considered a failure.

If the Eagles were smart, they would have put Chang in their high powered offense, giving him a chance to look as good as Feeley did a few years back. Then they could trade him for a second round draft pick and later sign him as a free agent when the suckers who bought him realize how much he sucks.
